Hayden has had a big last couple of weeks. After the regular baseball season was over, the Travs went into the playoffs. Hayden enjoyed two more home games and then got to go to Springdale for the final game (since the Travs swept the series). More baseball for him was just perfect. He got to go in the clubhouse during the celebration. He LOVED it and had LOTS to share afterward........
Hanging out with Mrs. Mary Jane
Then he got to enjoy two more home games in the Texas League Playoffs. This meant more time with Ryan and he was thrilled with that.
We gave serious thought to going to Frisco for the playoff game on Friday. It would have been a hard and fast trip because of Hayden's schedule and because of Hurricane Ike and the remnants thereof. In the end, we decided to wait and maybe go on Sunday (this was when we thought it would be a day game)
Friday night - Harold and Hayden got soaked at practice. With a 20 percent chance of rain, no one thought it would actually rain out practice but toward the end of it, the bottom fell out and they were SOAKED when they got home. (Sure wish I had photos of them, but did not have the camera out...)
Hayden and his best bud Ethan are on different baseball teams this Fall. Saturday was to be their first games and they were to play each other. It was going to be interesting to say the least..... Well, anticipating rain, the games were all canceled on Saturday so maybe Wednesday night, I'll be able to let you know how the two of them did being on different teams.
Wonder if we will get them to do this with different teams? Hmmmm
Sunday morning - the first thing Hayden asked was if he was going to Frisco. Let me tell you that was one pitiful face when I explained that the game was at 6 and with a 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive home - there was just no way we could do it. None of this made him feel any better. But with parent teacher conference set for tomorrow, there was just no real option.
So we spent a nice lazy Sunday together at home. Hayden and Harold cleaned out the yard from all the wind last night. You could not tell we had done lots of yardwork early yesterday after the wind last night. Part of a tree in our front yard fell on Poppaw's truck. God was watching over us though because it landed on the metal tool box and not the side or front of the truck. As Hayden was starting to clean, I asked him if he was going to get the limbs out of the front yard. His response was to let me know as soon as he got Poppaw's truck cleaned out. Once again, we have no doubt where we all rank in his world....behind Poppaw.
He was very proud of himself playing with his Magnetix later in the day. His creation was to spell out his name.
Hope you all have a great week. Hayden has a three day school week so he is REALLY looking forward to that.

Six o'clock Wednesday! :) Ethan is so excited to see Hayden. I think he is having withdrawals. Love the post and the magnetix name.. how cute! :) Talk to you soon.
