What a great week Hayden had at school.....it was a one card week. His only card was for turning around in his seat to talk during reading group because he was just sure that one of his classmates had a REAL tattoo and he HAD to tell another classmate about it. Okay, so it was not a REAL tattoo and he did NOT HAVE to tell the other classmate and after a night of NO television, he has that figured out now. The card came on Monday so he had four days to "do right" so he could go hang out with Ethan on Saturday before their baseball game. (Yep three games into the season and he and Ethan's teams will have played each other twice...now where is the fairness in all of that? Michelle and I will do what any good Moms do....sit in the middle and cheer for both boys)
On Monday night, when there was no television, we played school. Hayden was the teacher and I was the student for a science lesson. (Thanks Mommaw for the science book - we are LOVING it) It was so hard not to laugh out loud at some of the things Hayden said while being the teacher. I just have NO doubt that some of these things have been said to him. Such as:
(1) Now you better listen because I am going to ask you questions after I finish
(2) There are more kids than you in this class, you cannot answer every question
(3) That was not the question I asked, you need to listen and answer the question I asked
(4) Now Nancie you must not touch the person in front of you while sitting on the carpet
(5) John - you go pull a card. Nancie thank you for not reacting to that.
(6) Listening is very important - pay attention please
(7) We will get to that next - please wait and answer only what I ask
Now Mommaw I know that you know this child has definitely heard these things.
After school I got a note to take home to my parents. It said "Nancie had a great day today. She only got off the carpet onse" Now how great is that? Such a model student I am........
