Hayden had his first fall ball game on Wednesday night. It was a make-up game because the Saturday game was postponed. This was the first time to meet Hayden's coach. We really like him. The kids all do too which is the most important thing.
Hayden started out playing rover and was not real excited about that. :-)
Hayden and his bud Ethan are on different teams this season. The first game had their teams playing each other. We worried how that might work it out but it was no problem. We should have known and not worried at all. They did just fine. Ethan was one of the first (if not first) and few kids to get a hit during the game. He got a double. Hayden was playing rover and was actually the player who got to Ethan's ball in the outfield (down third baseline) before any other player. As Ethan was on second, he and Hayden were talking to each other - it was just too much.
Hayden did not take too well to the spring loaded pitching machine. He had done well the wheeled one but this one - not so much. He batted only once and struck out. He was not happy at all. He will do better as the season continues and we explained that to him. His team won 1- 0 with time running out on the clock. It was an interesting game.
Miss Scarlett at the game....isn't she just beyond precious?
We went out to eat with Ethan and his family and celebrated Ethan's birthday a night early. It was a great dinner and loads of fun!! (I, of course, left my camera in the car so I have no photos of when Ethan was having happy birthday sang to him while wearing a sombrero. Just picture that, it was great)
