Another Day at the Ballfield

Wow, what a difference 3 days makes. Hayden's second fall ball game was Saturday. He was so much more focused and had a GREAT time.

We started our day going to the ballfield to watch Ethan's game. Ethan assisted with two put outs. It was great. Wish I had remembered to bring my camera because when he got the first out, he must have jumped 3 or 4 feet in the air! He was so excited.

Hayden and Scarlett hung out together. They watched the game when something was going on involving Ethan. Otherwise, they were playing frisbee (with a lid to a container of donuts - such innovative kids - with a little help from Mrs. Michelle) or running around chasing fly balls. It was a perfect way to start the morning.

We were back at the ballfield by 1:30 for a 2:00 game. Hayden hit the ball this time and was able to STEAL. Oh my, how that kid loves to run the bases and get to steal. I think it makes him feel like one of the big boys.

Okay so he missed this ball but he hit the ball with two strikes......Legging it out for second...Getting congrats from Coach Kelly at 3rd.....
Oops..."maybe I won't try to go home yet........"

He scored the last run of the game and his team won 7 to 5.

Notice the necklace in the photos? He said it brought him luck because Ryan gave it to him. He was very much into being like Ryan at the game. He was in the ready position. He was hustling and no silliness. The biggest thing for him and what he told us after the game was "I was just like Ryan, I was the first one in the field and the first one off each time!" And to his credit - this was true!
